React Job: Web Developer

JOB BRIEF

We are looking for a Web Developer to be involved in maintaining our range of public-facing websites and in-house JavaScript-based web applications.

The successful candidate will be involved in the maintenance of static websites and will be comfortable with build and deployment processes using tools like Git, CI/CD pipelines, Gulp, Handlebars. They will also be involved in the maintenance, updating and creation of in-house web applications which are generally ReactJS -based and integrate with OData-based REST APIs.

RESPONSIBILITIES

(Duties & Capabilities)

• Maintenance, updating and (occasional) creation of static websites, to include:
• Standards compliance (W3C HTML, CSS etc.)
• Optimisation of performance, accessibility, best practices and SEO (Lighthouse)
• Responsive, mobile-first design
• Maintenance and updating of in-house, PHP-based API
• Maintenance and updating of MySQL database
• Maintenance and creation of front-end, JavaScript-based applications
• Domain name registration & DNS management

REQUIREMENTS

(Competencies & Expertise)

Required:

• Strong HTML5, CSS3 & SASS/SCSS knowledge
• Strong JavaScript (ES6) knowledge
• Experience with package managers Yarn and/or NPM
• Competent with React, and/or Vue JavaScript frameworks
• Proficient in PHP
• Good understanding of database technologies such as MySQL and/or MS SQL
• Good understanding of Git
• Familiarity with the Linux command line

Desirable:

• Knowledge of AWS cloud services and infrastructure such as S3, Cloudfront, Elastic Beanstalk & EC2
• Familiarity with Laravel PHP framework
• Understanding of Elasticsearch
• Familiarity with MS Dynamics 365, MS Dataverse and MS Dataverse Web API
• Familiarity with technologies such as Webpack, Gulp, Handlebars, Eleventy

Additional information - Successful candidate will be expected to attend the office one day a week.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: £40,000.00-£50,000.00 per year
